Dr. Katrakilidis is currently Professor of Econometrics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (GR), Department of Economics. He graduated and received his postgraduate diploma and doctoral degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and continued with post-doctoral research at the KV University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Dr.Katrakilidis has lectured extensively on topics of theoretical and applied Econometrics at the Department of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as well as on Statistics and Operational Research at the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (GR) and the Technological Educational Institute of Serres (GR). He has also taught Advanced Econometrics, Quantitative Methods and Research Methodology at postgraduate level at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Macedonia (GR), the International Hellenic University (GR), the Hellenic Open University (GR) and the Erasmus-Mundus program.

From September 2013 to October 2015, he was the Chairman of the Economics Department, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki while for several years he had served as Head of the Division of Planning and Development of the Economics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Director of the Computers Laboratory.
